JOHN POLIDORI
b.1795 d.1821
Polidori was Byron's doctor and as a result was one of the four who, in June 1816 met at Lake Geneva and accepted the challenge to write a horror story. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was one result, and Polidori was the only other to complete his story, The Vampyre; a Tale (1819) . It was initially believed to be the work of Byron.

The Vampyre; a Tale, Sherwood, Neely and Jones (London), 1819
