  WILLIAM HOPE HODGSON
b.1877 d.1918
Hodgson was born in Essex and spent many of his earlier years at sea with the Merchant Marine. He is known for his ghost and horror stories, many of which have a maritime theme. Hodgson was killed in an artillery bombardment near Ypres in April, 1918.
