Robert
Murray Gilchrist often set his novels in Derbyshire and the Peak
District, but also wrote a number of weird tales, most of which
were collected as The Stone Dragon (1894). He did write other
ghost stories, though, and all were recently collected in
The
Basilisk
(2003).
