Casserly was born (James Henry) Gordon Casserly in
Dublin in 1869. In the Checklist of Fantastic
Literature E.F. Bleiler's lists as fantastic The Elephant God (New York: Putnam, 1921) The Jungle Girl (New York: Clode, [1922]) and
The Monkey God (London: Allan, 1933). He died in
Brighton in 1947.
Tiger Girl: A Love Story of
the Indian Jungle, Philip Allan, 1934
A deceiving one, this. It's actually a genuine, full-on
supernatural tale set in the jungles of India, complete with were-tigers and
siren-like women with back-facing feet who, when encountered, tear you to
shreds! Typical 1930's Allan fare and good fun in that pulpy way.
