Noel Boston,
a clergyman, wrote ghost stories in the manner of M.R. James, and
like James intended them for his own amusement, and that of
friends. In 1953 he was persuaded to privately publish a rare
collection of five of his stories as Yesterday
Knocks.
Further stories were published in the magazine Supernatural
Stories.
