We like our
poets gloomy and droopy, and perhaps Stenbock is the granddaddy of
the morbid aesthete, but Park Barnitz, who didn't have the
advantage of the vast Stenbock fortune, was a similarly doomed
character. "Those whom the gods love . . . "
