  EDWIN LESTER ARNOLD
b.1857 d.1935
Arnold was well-known in his day for The Wonderful Adventures of Phra the Phoenician (1890), a novel in which the hero is reborn over the centuries. His Gulliver Jones (1905) is believed by some commentators to be the genesis of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars novels
